Jordan Chiles recently opened up about the importance of authenticity in her journey as a gymnast and public figure, which helped her connect with her fans.
Chiles is a two-time Olympian and has secured medals in both of her appearances. At the recent Olympic Games in Paris, she collected a total of 55.465 points to contribute to the team's gold medal victory, earning 14.400, 14.366, 12.733, and 13.966 points, on vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise, respectively.
Starting gymnastics at the age of seven, Chiles, made her elite and international debut in 2013 and 2014, respectively. Since then, she has continued to impress and build a large fanbase.
While addressing the audience during an event with Vaseline, with whom she partnered in September 2024, Chiles stated that by being authentic to herself, she aims to set a positive example for others.
"Showing up for my best self is really the people that are under and above me, you know? I feel like some people, when it comes to asking me that they're like oh the younger generation, it's like no, there's people above me that do look up to me and I think just being authentic to who I am."
Chiles added:
"It's also my 'why,' like 'why do I do my sport?' or ' why do I, you know, become great partners with Vaseline?' or 'why do I, you know, do the things that I do, it's because of just me being the person I am."
Jordan Chiles submits a new application to the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland over her Paris Olympics bronze medal decision debacle
Jordan Chiles has submitted a new appeal to the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland over her bronze medal debacle at the Paris Olympics.
The American gymnast was stripped of her bronze medals after Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu submitted an appeal, stating Cecile Landi raised an inquiry on Chiles' performance after the stipulated time.
According to CNN, Chiles' attorney Maurice Suh stated that a video captured by crew members, shooting for Simone Biles' documentary, shows the audio and video recording of Landi inquiring in the allotted time. The new appeal was submitted with the hope of reconsideration and alteration of CAS' previous decision.
