Jordan Chiles recently appeared in a podcast where she opened up about teammate Simone Biles' reaction to meeting Jamaican athlete Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. The latter was excited to meet the track and field athlete at the Olympic Village during the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Biles had a victorious time at the Paris Olympics, winning four medals and becoming the most decorated gymnast of all time. Along with her dominant skills on the podium, the 27-year-old also enjoyed her time at the Olympic Village meeting other athletes.
Chiles was recently in a conversation at the 'Chicks in the Office' podcast, hosted by Maria Ciuffo and Francesca Mariano. Where she revealed that Simone Biles was ecstatic to meet Fraser-Pryce, and they had a great conversation with each other. She also added that it was a "cool" experience for them to listen to the sprinter's stories.
"I was like, 'Hey, Simone, there's Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce,' and I've never seen Simone so, like whoo, like, she's right there," said Chiles. "I'm like yeah, you know it's the opposite, it's like oh my that gosh that Simone, like she was really excited, so being able to like introduce Shelly-Ann to Simone, and just they had a great conversation, and hearing her how she was on Sprint and all that stuff, like the backstory, it was really cool, so that interaction was really fun." Biles won her first gold of the 2024 Summer Games at the team all-around event, where she and her team scored 171.296 to stand atop the podium. Following this, she earned another gold in the individual all-around event, where she scored 59.131 points, trouncing Rebeca Andrade and Suni Lee, who scored 57.932 and 56.465 points, respectively.
Biles clinched her third gold in the vault event, where she scored 15.300 points, and the fourth one was a silver medal, which she secured in the floor routine.
Simone Biles opened up about her feelings after the completion of her Paris Olympics campaign
In a conversation with Aly Raisman during an interview with the Olympics.com Simone Biles opened up about her feelings regarding the conclusion of the 2024 Paris Olympic campaign. She spoke about all the tricks and hard work she had to do to perform well at the competition and also revealed that a lot of weight was off her shoulders after the event.
"A lot of training with Cecile and Laurent (Landi), a lot of hours with my therapist, making sure all the ducks are in a row so that I can perform as well as I want to," said Simone Biles. "So, after all is said and done, a lot of weight is off my shoulders."
She added that she felt "so much better" after her campaign was done.
"I feel so much better now that it’s done because we know how hard that is especially to attain something that is so big and to just even do it again was an amazing accomplishment to just make the all-around final and then to come out with a gold medal I was like, 'Oh my gosh I did it’ but I still can’t believe it.'"
Simone Biles is now the most decorated gymnast of all time with a total of 11 Olympic medals, of which seven are gold medals, two are silver, and two are bronze medals.
