Simone Biles' coach Cecile Landi recently reacted to the gymnast winning the L'Equipe World Champion for the fifth time, hence adding a new achievement to her records list. Biles won the award after enjoying a victorious year, including a tremendous outing at the Paris Olympics.
The legendary gymnast clinched four medals in the French capital, including three golds and one silver medal. After having pulled out from competing in the final round at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Biles returned to the competitive circuit in 2023 at the 2023 U.S. Classic and cruised through till the World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium.
Navigating victories at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships and Olympic trials, Biles earned the qualification for the 2024 Paris Games. She dominated the individual all-around event after posting a total of 59.131 points, surpassing Rebeca Andrade and Suni Lee, who collected 57.932 and 56.465 points, respectively.
She competed on all the apparatus and led the American squad to victory in the team event after defeating the Italian and Brazilian squads. For her glorious feat, she was honored with the Lequipe (The Team), a French nationwide daily sports newspaper for the fifth time after having received it in 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2023.
Biles' former coach and former French gymnast Landi reacted to the multiple-time Olympic medalist earning the award by sharing the news on her Instagram story and adding a goat emoji, indicating Greatest Of All Time (G.O.A.T).
Alongside Biles, Leon Marchand was honored as the male French Champion of Champions, and Brazil’s Gabriel dos Santos Araujo and China’s Jiang Yuyan won the inaugural awards for para-athletes.

The former French gymnast took the role of coach at the World Championship Center, owned by Biles' parents, in 2017 along with her husband Laurent Landi. A year after she started coaching the legendary gymnast, Biles secured four gold, one silver, and a bronze medal at the 2018 WC in Doha, followed by five gold medals at the next edition.
Although Biles withdrew from competing in a few events at the 2020 Tokyo Games, she grabbed a silver and bronze medal in the team and balance beam events, respectively. Biles continued her Olympic legacy at the 2024 Games under Landi's mentorship.
Apart from the six Olympic medals bagged under Landi's direction, Simone Biles secured more five medals at the 2024 World Championship.
