Cecile Landi, former coach of Simone Biles, celebrated her daughter Juliette's impressive performance at the World Aquatics Junior Diving Championships on November 26, 2024. Olympian Landi mentors elite gymnasts at the World Champions Center (WCC) in Texas. Known for her innovative coaching techniques, she played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of top athletes, including the most decorated Olympic gymnast Biles.
At the World Aquatics Junior Championships in Brazil in November 2024, Juliette Landi finished 7th in the 1m springboard event, scoring 347.45 points. Following the competition, the 17-year-old shared a video of her dive on her Instagram story, writing:
"Finished 7th in the world today on 1m in the final. I was 3rd going into the last round, but it unfortunately didn't end up that way. I'm extremely proud of myself; this was one of the most consistent meets I've ever had, and I'm keeping my head up high going into tomorrow for 3m."
Biles's former coach also took to her Instagram story to praise her daughter, writing,
"Bravo Juliette! 7th at Jr. World 1m!"
Juliette Landi will compete in the 3m preliminaries on November 27, 2024.
Simone Biles' coach Cecile Landi pens a heartfelt note for her daughter
Juliette Landi's career highlights include competing at the 2024 American Cup, the 2023 World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, the 3rd European Games, and the 2022 Fina World Junior Diving Championships.
Next summer, the diving champion will study and compete at Auburn University. On Instagram, Simone Biles' former coach Cecile Landi celebrated her daughter's success, writing a heartfelt post earlier this month:
"She did It. Since a very young age, growing up in the gym, surrounded by Olympians and NCAA athletes, she's been dreaming of her own goals. This year, she made those dreams a reality! This summer, she competed at the Paris Games, and tonight, she signed to study and compete at Auburn University! She'll join the @auburdiving #auburnsswimdive team next summer/fall! We are so proud of you and can't wait to see what the future holds! We love you."
Juliette Landi discovered her passion for diving after transitioning from gymnastics, inspired by her parents and a scuba diving experience three years ago. This year, she competed in the synchronized 3m event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she and her partner, Naïs Gillet, finished in 8th place.
