Simone Biles' former coach Cecile Landi engaged in Christmas traditions at the University of Georgia, decorating the Christmas tree with the Gymdogs. The French former gymnast recently shifted from Texas to UGA as the head coach of the women's gymnastics team.
Training Biles at her parents-run gym WCC since 2017, Landi witnessed the Olympian face mental struggles at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and redeem the top spot at the 2023 World Championships. As a coach of the US gymnastics team at the 2024 Paris Olympics, she helped them get to the gold podium and Biles to two individual golds (all-around and vault) and a silver (floor exercise).
After that, Landi started her tenure as the co-head coach of the Georgia Gymdogs. On December 21, 2024, before the gymnasts leave for the Christmas holidays, Landi joined the Gymdogs squad to decorate the Christmas tree, as posted on UGA Gymnastics' official Instagram.
"Rocking around the GymDog tree. Have a happy holiday!"
Recently, Simone Biles' ex-coach took to her Instagram story to welcome her Paris Olympic ring, added to the ones from the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Games.
"Paris arrived," her caption read.
A former gymnast herself, Cecile Landi represented France at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. She drew a line to her competitive gymnastics career in 2002 and soon shifted her focus to coaching, alongside her then-fiance Laurent Landi. Having coached at the World Olympic Gymnastics Academy for over ten years, the couple moved to Texas at the World Champions Center.
