Georgia Gymdogs got a supporter in the form of Simone Biles for their most recent fixture. The gymnastics' legend arrived alongside husband Jonathan Owens to cheer for the team at their inaugural home game against the Boise State Univeersity.

Owens uploaded a selfie with Biles, who had worn the Gymdogs jersey for the occasion, and uploaded it on the Instagram story. Biles also uploaded a couple of photographs ahead of the game between Georgia Gymdogs and Boise State University, with one of them captioned:

When the Gymdogs' Instagram handle announced Biles arrival nearly a month ago, her former coach Cecile Landi wrote on her Instagram story,

"I can't wait to see you"

Simone Biles had made a visit to the game in honor of her coach Cecile Landi, who had recently joined the University of Georgia. Landi had previously worked for seven years at the World Champions Center, where she coached both Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles to stardom. After the Paris Olympics, the French-born American coach bid goodbye to the World Champions Center as she accepted the job at the University of Georgia.

Simone Biles had a brilliant season last year, for which she was also rewarded with SI Sportsperson of the Year Award. Following the award, she made a major appeal for the women's sports.

"I'd also like to recognize that 2024 was a big year for women's sports and I'd also like to remind everyone that it is not limited to once every four years. So, please continue to invest and support all women's sports at all levels," she said.

Biles also recounted that the previous year has been a brilliant one in terms of the rise in the popularity of women's sports. In her words,

“I think it’s been an amazing year for women’s sports because we’ve been using our platforms to grow the conversation and inspire our fans around the world to build confidence through movement, just like we do. So I think right now it’s a time for women to be proud, stand in our power, and share our success and our journey and our stories.”

Simone Biles proved her mettle once again at the Paris Olympics, with three Olympic gold medals and a silver. With that, she took her total to eleven Olympic medals, making her the most decorated American gymnast of all time.
