Simone Biles indulges in a special treat as a part of her pre-competition routine during Gold Over America tour

Simone Biles indulged in a cheesy pizza before her Gold Over America tour performance in Brooklyn as her pre-competition ritual. Biles added three golds and a silver at the 2024 Paris Olympics to extend her Olympic medal tally to 11, surpassing seven-time Olympic medalist Shannon Miller as the most decorated US gymnast.

Biles made her maiden Olympic appearance in 2016 in Rio, winning gold medals in the team, all-around vault and floor, and bronze in the balance beam. Her effort set an American record for most gold medals in women's gymnastics in an individual Games. In an interview from 2016, after she won the gold as part of the 'Final Five' women's gymnastics team, Biles shared that her post-meet ritual was to enjoy a hearty pepperoni pizza, irrespective of winning a 'self-gold'.

"It doesn’t even matter if I don’t win a self-gold, after every meet I have pizza. Pepperoni pizza," she said to ABC News.

Fast forward to 2024, after her Paris Olympic exploits and 17 successful Gold Over America tour stops, the 11-time Olympic medalist gave a sneak peek of her pre-competition routine: indulging in a cheesy pizza, as per Elle.

A carousel of pictures posted by Elle on October 2024 featured Biles getting ready for her performance and enjoying a pizza while getting her hair done at the Barclays Center.

In 2017, Biles shared that her guilty pleasure meant 'a pizza and ice-cream party with friends while watching movies.'

After the GOAT stopped at Brooklyn, Biles and her team maneuvered their best routines at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The team will then travel to CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore.

In a 2021 interview with Jimmy Kimmel on his eponymous show, Simone Biles defended her favorite pizza Imo's, when the former expressed his dislike for the same.

"Imo’s is very, very bad pizza," Jimmy claimed. (3:37)

Biles hilariously lashed out and said:

"No, it's not. First of all, it's so mean to say."

Further when the host claimed that 'provel is the world's most disgusting cheese', the Olympian responded by saying,

"Provel is the best. We could fight right now."

The same year, the 27-year-old withdrew from mid-competition at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, citing 'twisties' and missing out on gold podiums despite being a heavy favorite.

Simone Biles launched the Gold Over America tour right after that, aiming to inspire young girls by normalizing topics revolving around mental health.
