Simone Biles recently addressed the criticism she faced regarding her hairstyle during the competitions. After becoming used to being conscious of the criticism about her hairstyle, she now embraces her individuality.
Biles once again proved her legacy at the 2024 Paris Olympics by clinching four medals. The 27-year-old grabbed three gold medals in the team, all-around, and vault events and a silver medal in the floor exercise event.
Throughout the years, Biles has faced a lot of criticism for her hairstyle. She received a major backlash for her hair, looking unkempt and with the edges being unslicked during her wedding.
At the Paris Olympics also, Biles panned her hair critics after enduring criticism online about her hairstyle, stating it was only a matter of time, citing the hot weather in the French capital.
In a recent interview with Elle, she expressed her newfound confidence in embracing her natural beauty. She shared how negative remarks impacted her initially, but over time; she learned how to embrace her appearance, advocating for self-love and acceptance and stated:
“I used to worry about [my hair being considered] not professional. But I’m not embarrassed about it anymore.”

Following her Paris Olympics feat, Simone Biles navigated a hectic schedule of interviews and media appearances. In one such appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, she opened up about her fourth appearance in the Games.
The 27-year-old gymnast stated that although she is young in life, she might be considered "old" for gymnastics, as the athletes typically peak early. Reflecting on the notions of aging in gymnastics, she said:
"Everybody wants to know this question. I'm like, 'Can't I live?'"
"First, I'm getting older," the gymnast added. "Like, 27 is a little bit old for a gymnast......Okay, so here's the thing. Like in real life, in gymnastics, like, aging like fine wine, okay. But, like, for a gymnast, old. But outside of gym, oh yeah, I'm young.......But like, in the gym, I'm old!"
So far, Biles has bagged 11 Olympics and 30 World Championships medals. She became the most decorated American gymnast with her victory at the recent Games.
