Simone Biles is one of the best gymnasts to have graced the mats in the history of the sport. The American has won a whopping 11 Olympic medals, and she recently opened up about how doing her hair and makeup helped her stay calm at the 2024 Games.
For Biles, 2024 was the year of a comeback. Three years earlier, she had withdrawn from the Tokyo Olympics finals to prioritize her mental health, and this was her chance to prove that she was still the best. The 27-year-old got her season off to an incredible start, winning the Core Hydration Classic, before going on to sweep the podiums at the US Nationals and impressing at the Olympic Trials.
At the Paris Olympics, Biles finally had her redemption, helping the US reclaim their team gold. Individually, she clinched her second all-around and vault gold medal and settled for silver on the floor. Recently, in a ‘get ready with me’ video for her Netflix documentary, Simone Biles Rising's premiere, the gymnast revealed that doing her own hair and makeup helped keep her calm at the Games, saying,
“It was actually fun to do my own hair and makeup at the Olympics and I feel like it was kind of calming to get ready, do your hair and makeup, and just bond with the girls.”
Simone Biles explains the significance of her dress for her Netflix Premiere
On Friday, October 25, Simone Biles attended the premiere of the second part of her Netflix documentary, Simone Biles Rising. As the gymnast graced the red carpet at the Egyptian Theatre Hollywood in LA, fans were left stunned at her outfit.
Biles was dressed in a beautiful black dress, which featured a fitted, flower bodice paired with a sheer, flowing skirt. In her ‘get ready with me' video, the American opened up about the significance of her dress, saying,
“What's special about my dress tonight is it's the same exact designer I used when they did my wedding gowns. So Galia Lahav, oh my goodness, I love how beautiful (they are), and how they shape your body perfectly. Sheer, kind of still giving that Leo vibes.”
Biles got married to NFL player Jonathan Owens back in 2023. The duo got married in April in Texas, before heading to Cabo for a destination wedding a little later.
