Simone Biles is one of the most decorated gymnasts of all time. After a 2024 that further established her status as the ‘GOAT,’ the gymnast has turned her attention to football and the NFL, cheering for her husband, Jonathan Owens, who plays as a safety for the Chicago Bears. Recently, the gymnast shared snaps from the latest Bears game she attended, revealing the ‘football besties’ she's made over the years.

For Biles, 2024 has seen her dominate all competitions she's participated in, including the Paris Olympics, where she won three golds and one silver medal. Throughout it all, Owens was constantly by the gymnast's side, cheering from the sidelines whenever she was in action.

Now, it is Biles’ turn to return the favor, and she has made multiple appearances in the stands when Owens and the Bears are competing. Most recently, she attended their December 8 fixture against the San Francisco 49ers, where she dressed up in a pair of track pants inspired by Owens. At the games, Biles also spent time with volleyball players Torrie Brown and Ocin Lee.

She shared snaps from her outing on Instagram, captioning the photos,

“Football! Swipe to see the besties football brought me.”

Simone Biles is largely considered to be one of the best gymnasts of all time, and for good reason. However, the American has admitted that her interests never went further than gymnastics and that she knew very little about football before meeting her husband, Jonathan Owens.

Speaking to People Magazine, she said,

“My dad and my brothers were always watching football, but I was never into it. But I was always at the gym too, it's not like I even had time to get to know it. In the very beginning, the Texans [in her hometown of Houston] would always bring me out so that I could lead the team out the tunnel and all of that good stuff, but I still knew absolutely not a thing about football.”

She went on to add that since being married to an NFL player, she quickly caught up with the sports, explaining,

“I've learned so much and even some of his teammates' wives are like, ‘Oh my gosh, you've come so far, you've learned so much,’ because they've seen the journey.”

For Simone Biles, 2024 has been an incredible year. She began the season by winning the US Core Hydration Classic, the US National Championships, and the US Olympic Trials. She then went on to compete at the Paris Olympics, where she helped the USA reclaim their team gold while winning the all-around and vault events herself.
