Simone Biles recently reunited with one of her strongest opponents, Rebecca Andrade, during an event in New York. Both the gymnasts squared off against each other at the Paris Olympics.

Biles and Rebecca last shared a stage at the 2024 Summer Games, giving terrific competition to each other. Months after this, the two reunited at the Vtex Connect in New York City, and the American gymnast shared a sneak peek of them meeting at the stage on her Instagram story. The picture showcased both the gymnast hugging each other while wearing all-black outfits.

This is not the first time the gymnasts have drawn attention while sharing the stage, as they did the same during the Paris Olympics in almost all the events, including team all-around, vault exercise, individual all-around, and floor exercise. Biles dominated three events against her and won the gold medal in the team all-around event, the vault exercise, and the individual all-around event.

The Brazilian took the lead in the floor exercise, where she stood atop the podium after earning 14.166 points while Biles claimed a silver medal, scoring 14.133 points.

Rebeca Andrade opened up about Simone Biles' views about her in her Netflix documentary

In the second season of her Netflix documentary, 'Simone Biles Rising,' Simone Biles opened up about her views on Rebeca Andrade and said that she considered the Brazilian one of her toughest opponents.

"Rebecca Andrade. She scares me most."

Andrade spoke about this statement in an interview with the media after her team all-around performance at the Paris Olympics. Speaking about Biles' view in a positive way, Rebeca stated that she felt the same way about her.

"Yes, I don't think it was a negative fear, as she said before, we encourage each other to be better and better, that's what she sees in me, and what I see in her saying that about me is very positive, I'm very happy, and I feel the same way about her," Rebeca Andrade said.

The rivalry between Simone Biles and Rebeca Andrade started at the 2016 Rio Olympics, where the latter dominated the individual all-around event and took the gold medal home. Following this, they squared off at the Tokyo Olympics, where the American dominated the vault event during the qualification round, but Rebeca Andrade got the upper hand in the finals after Biles withdrew after experiencing 'twisties.'

Simone Biles' current Olympic medal tally is seven gold medals, two silver medals, and two bronze medals, and Andrade, on the other hand, has currently won two gold medals, three silver medals, and one bronze medal in her Olympic career.
