Simone Biles celebrated the arrival of her biggest surprise, her husband Jonathan Owens, amid her Gold Over America tour. The seven-time Olympic gold medalist's tour stopped in Milwaukee — not too far from where Owens' NFL team will host the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
Ever since Biles and Owens tied their nuptial knots in April 2023, they have mostly stayed apart due to their career commitments. In 2023, the former made an appearance at a couple of Owens' NFL games, who played for the Green Bay Packers back then. The couple also shared updates about their under-construction abode in Texas when they met amid tight schedules.
In 2024, Owens attended most of Simone Biles' gymnastics events before his new NFL season with the Chicago Bears started. He even missed the Hall of Fame Game to attend the 2024 Paris Olympics, where Biles extended her Olympic medal tally to 11.
In a recent Instagram post by Simone Biles, she revealed that Owens paid a surprise visit to her in Milwaukee, where the Gold Over America tour will take its eighth stop at the Fiserv Forum. It is approximately 100 miles from where the star defensive back's team will host the Los Angeles Rams .
Jonathan Owens stood with a large heart-shaped bouquet of yellow and red roses. Biles, in awe of the gesture, expressed her love for him, writing:
"The Best Surprise. Ilysm"
In the following story, he was seen taking tour dance lessons from Biles' teammate, Jordan Chiles.
Owens tattooed Biles' first initial 'S' before the Olympian headed to the Paris Olympics, and the latter reciprocated with a 'J' (Owens' first initial) on her ring finger recently.
Simone Biles on how she and Jonathan Owens make the long-distance marriage work
In a recent interview with US Weekly, Biles revealed how she and her husband make the marriage work despite staying miles apart from each other most times.
"I feel like the hardest time because we are in long-distance would be quality time. Whenever we are together we really cherish those moments and make those memories." (via US Weekly) [1:07]
She noted two of the common things they do to spend quality time.
We usually try to go to a nice dinner and relax at the house because that truly is so special for us.... But it's also nice that we get to go out and support each other in their respective sports," she said.
The 30-time World medalist will conclude the Gold Over America tour in Detroit Michigan, on November 3. The following day, her husband's team will take on the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9 of the NFL season.
