Simone Biles' gymnastics colleague Joscelyn Roberson congratulated her husband Jonathan Owens on becoming PFF’s Highest Graded Safety in Week 14. The teenager traveled as an alternate for the US Olympic women's gymnastics team to the Paris Olympics 2024.

In 2015, when Roberson's standing backflip went viral on X, it caught Simone Biles' attention. The latter, in awe of the 9-year-old girl maneuvering with finesse, shared the post on X and wished to learn a thing or two from her.

"I'm in awe.{perfect}. Some1 help me find this cutie. I wanna meet her, so she could teach me a thing or two #goals."

In May 2015, Joscelyn Roberson posted a photo of herself in front of a Simone Biles-themed independent school research project.

"My GT project!"

The then-9-year-old even wore a red leotard and a medal around her neck, posing with a smile.

Cut to 2024, Joscelyn Roberson shares the WCC gym with her older counterpart and even traveled with her to the Paris Olympics. Though she didn't participate in her debut Games appearance, the 18-year-old constantly supported the US gymnastics women during their performances.

Months later, Roberson took to her Instagram story and lauded Biles' husband Jonathan Owens for becoming PFF’s Highest Graded Safety in Week 14. She captioned the story with an exclamation mark GIFs.

Roberson was also part of the US gymnastics women's team at the 2023 World Championships but suffered a leg injury during the vault warm-up. Currently a collegiate gymnast with the Arkansas Razorbacks, the teenager returned to the competition mat at the American Classic, building up to the 2024 Summer Games.

Joscelyn Roberson joined WCC in 2022 after her mother changed her employment location near Texas. Since her initial days, she had built confidence with the help of her coaches and fellow mentees, especially Simone Biles.

Watching Biles make waves on the 2023 World stage was a learning experience for Roberson. In an interview with International Gymnast Media, she talked about observing Biles' routine up close not just as a teammate but as a roommate too.

"It was awesome getting to watch the finals, and watch Simone and be in her corner. I feel I got a different experience from the other girls because I was her roommate, and I am her teammate at home. So getting to see how she works and how she kept herself fresh and able to do gymnastics was really good. I’ll be taking how she goes down and comes back up, and her training, into my own training."

Joscelyn Roberson was also part of the Simone Biles-led Gold Over America Tour, that went on from September 16 to November 3.
