Simone Biles' husband and Chicago Packer's quarterback Jonathan Owens shone brightly in Sunday’s game against Tennessee Titans, scoring a crucial takedown. However, moments later, he was referred to as ‘Mr. Biles’ by a commentator, leaving several fans angry over the internet.

Fans have heavily trolled Owens over the last year with the name ‘Mr. Biles' frequently spammed in his DMs. The criticism started after the NFL star had called himself the ‘catch’ in his relationship with Biles, but was publicly supported by the Olympic gymnast nonetheless.

After Owens witnessed Biles write history at the Paris Olympics, the 29-year-old started his maiden season with the Chicago Bears and has already been leaving his mark. Owens scored a crucial touchdown during Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans as the Bears continued their undefeated run in the preseason.

However, moments after his impressive performance, Jonathan Owens being referred to as ‘Mr. Biles’ by NFL commentator Adam Amin left many fans furious on X.

"If I'm Jonathan Owens, I'd beat the commentator's a** for calling me Mr. Biles after I scored a TD", a fan wrote.

"That was disrespectful calling Jonathan Owens Mr Biles. Respect to Simone but that’s disrespectful," another fan wrote.

Simone Biles says husband Jonathan Owens is indeed a ‘catch’

In an interview with Call Her Daddy earlier this year, Simone Biles opened up about the criticism her husband Jonathan Owens received. The Olympic gymnast directly addressed the ‘catch’ comments, claiming that she had never met a man like Owens.

"He said he was a catch because he is. I've never met a man like him", Biles claimed (via People)

Biles added that she thought the criticism was hilarious at first when people were telling her to divorce her husband. However, after a certain point, it was too much for the eleven-time Olympic medalist.

"I thought it was hilarious what people were saying divorce him, divorce him. Then, like, one night, I broke down, and I'm like, 'Why are you guys talking about my husband like this?'", Biles revealed.

Regardless, Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens have continued to support each other and have been regularly spotted at each other's sports events.
