Simone Biles couldn't help but feel nostalgic during her Gold Over America Tour as she stayed in the hotel where she once stayed for the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials. The familiar surroundings reminded her of the incredible journey she had at the last selection stage of the Paris Olympics.
The 2024 U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials were scheduled from June 27–30, 2024, at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In the U.S. Olympic Trials, she secured a spot to make her third appearance at the Games, with the 2024 edition in Paris.
Biles dominated the all-around and floor events after collecting 117.225 and 14.725, respectively. Moreover, she also secured a silver medal in the uneven bars competition after bagging 14.200 points to settle behind Suni Lee with 14.875 points.
Now, as she embarks on the Gold Over America Tour, the experiences at the Trials served as a reminder of her Paris Olympics journey. As the ongoing tour made its way to Minnesota on September 27, 2024, Biles felt an instant connection to the familiar surroundings of the place. Staying at the same hotel in Minneapolis, sparked a strong sense of deja vu, bringing back the good memories.
"Last night I stayed in the same hotel we stayed at when we competed at Olympic Trials...Walking in I had so much deja vu. What good memories. Bittersweet," Biles wrote on her Instagram story.
