After an incredible NCAA career as a college athlete, the Penn State wrestler confirmed his spot as a member of the U.S. Wrestling team all set to represent the country at the Paris Olympic games later this year.
Aaron Brooks dominated the early rounds with great precision and strength. In the finals of the U.S. Olympics wrestling team trials in the Men's 86kg weight class, he came up against reigning champion David Taylor.
Brooks won the final match against Taylor 4-1 in the first round followed by a 3-1 victory in the second, winning the series with a 2-0 score and sealing his Olympic spot in the Men's 86kg weight class. This was a surprising defeat for David Taylor as he had not lost a match in the past seven years.

Aaron Brooks dominated the college circuit by winning the NCAA Championships as well as the Big Ten Championships a record four times consecutively. As he continued his momentum on the senior circuit, Brooks opened up about his incredible win at the U.S. Olympic wrestling team trials in 2024.
"You don't realize, we don't get sleep. You know, you leave here, my last match was at 10:45 and I immediately go up to lose weight. I go to sleep at 2 a.m. and warm up at six to lose weight again. It’s a war, that’s why the Lord brings me all tournament. Praying to him to strengthen me because without him the stuff we go through, it’s gruesome," he said.
