Fresh off his impressive victory at the Who's Number One, Bo Bassett shared an update regarding his college recruitment journey. Bassett clinched the 144-lbs category wrestling title at the country's most prestigious high school wrestling event.

The highly sought-after recruit is currently navigating through the recruitment process while narrowing it down to 16 recruiters, including Michigan, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Ohio State, Virginia, and Oklahoma.

With the WNO held in Johnstown, the seventh grader met numerous college coaches, including the University of Michigan coach Sean Bormet. Reflecting on the meeting, he appreciated Michigan's vision for wrestling.

Further, he also expressed that while some wrestlers find the recruiting process challenging, he has chosen to embrace it, as he views it as a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

"Some wrestlers don’t like this process, but I can honestly say I am really enjoying it," Bo Bassett wrote. "My view is, I only get to do the recruiting process once, so I am going to enjoy it and have fun with it. I sometimes like to do things differently and hope everyone likes these updates."

He further added:

"I definitely enjoy spending time with my family, meeting new coaches and wrestlers & getting to see places I only dreamed about as a young wrestler. My advice about recruiting to any youth wrestler is enjoy it, handle it exactly how you want and have fun with it, because you earned it."

The 2021 Cadet Freestyle World Championships bronze medalist also shared the list of his upcoming visits, which is mentioned below:

  • Oct 25-27: Iowa
  • Nov 1-3: PSU
  • Nov 8-10: Ohio State
  • Nov 15-17: Virginia Tech
  • Nov 22-24: Oklahoma State
  • Jan 24-26: Rutgers
