Shericka Jackson has unfortunately pulled out from the 200m race at the 2024 Paris Olympics, despite being a top seed. He absence in the 200m heats on Sunday and 'DNS' beside her name in the official start sheet has left fans concerned over what might have happened at the quadrennial Games.
Shericka Jackson initially competed in the 400m, having collected bronze at the 2015 World Championships, 2016 Rio Olympics, and 2019 World Championships. In 2021, she shifted to shorter sprints and added the 100m bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics besides anchoring the 4x400m relay team to bronze in the same event.
At the 2023 World Championships, Shericka Jackson won the 200m title in 21.41s, the second-fastest time in history just behind world record holder, Florence Griffith- Joyner. Her effort qualified her for the 2024 Paris Olympics as the top seed but a recent update came as a shock to the track world.

Another fan hinted at a discrimination which Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce also faced.
"It’s about how Shelly Ann was treated. There is discrimination going on there."

"Paris is a bag a salt and bedbugs," commented a fan.
Shericka Jackson was sure of competing in one race at the 2024 Paris Olympics
Shericka Jackson entered the 100m roster as the second seed behind Sha'Carri Richardson. However, in an Olympic tune-up race in Hungary two weeks ago, she suffered an injury, which forced her to sit out of the 100m race at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Initially, the Jamaican and her coaches were sure of her 200m participation at the quadrennial Games.
"It was a combination of things. I got hurt, and me and my coach felt like it was a good decision to only run one event," Jackson said. (via Al Jazeera)
Jackson has 11 World medals in her repertoire, out of which, four are golds. She is also a two-time Diamond League champion in the 200m.
