Stephen Nedoroscik reacted to a fan supporting Penn State Gymnastics by wearing their official merchandise during the Dancing With the Stars Tour. The DWTS Tour kicked off its first show on January 7 and is set to continue until April 2025 in various locations, featuring the contestants of the popular dance reality show's 33rd season.
Nedoroscik opted to go out of his comfort zone to participate in Dancing With the Stars right after the Paris Olympics. The American athlete showcased massive improvements as the season of the dance reality show progressed and received huge praise from fans. Along with incredible performances, Stephen Nedoroscik used his platform to raise awareness about the decline of men's gymnastics in the United States of America.
The American athlete shed light on how NCAA programs for men's gymnastics are removing scholarships, eventually affecting the sport's growth. Nedoroscik went on to dedicate one of his performances to men's gymnastics in the US and hoped to pioneer a change to revive the sport. As the Dancing with the Stars Tour was in full swing, Nedoroscik expressed his thoughts on a fan's gesture as she extended her support to Penn State Gymnastics, a program that the Olympian was a part of during his NCAA career.
" Love to see it 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻" he wrote.
Stephen Nedoroscik on feeling nervous while participating in DWTS
Stephen Nedoroscik spoke about being nervous before teaming up with Rylee Arnold and participating in Dancing With the Stars. The American athlete shed light on the similarities between handling the nerves during gymnastics and dancing in his appearance on the Kelly Clark show.
The 26-year-old athlete revealed how he was initially concerned about people's opinions about his performance which added to the pressure while dancing.
“For the last eight years or so, these legs have done nothing. Amazingly they are quite similar. It is obviously a little more nerve-wracking when you have people relying on you to get a team medal but like you know," he said (0.48 onwards).
"I don't know how good I am at dance I don't know how people are going to perceive it so there is that nervous factor and it's like oh man this is all new to me, I might mess it up,” he added.
Nedoroscik and his dance partner Rylee Arnold ultimately finished fourth in the finale of DWTS after an incredible run in the season.
