Stephen Nedoroscik received a warm welcome at the Pennsylvania State University during his stint at the Dancing With the Stars Tour 2025. Nedoroscik ended his 2024 season with a fourth finish at the DWTS alongside professional partner, Rylee Arnold.
Nedoroscik was a student-athlete at Penn State who began his NCAA journey with Penn State in 2017, clinching the NCAA National title in the pommel horse in his freshman season. The following year, he won the Big Ten title in his forte event and defended his title at the 2018 National Championships.
In 2019, he anchored the Penn State men's gymnastics team to finish sixth and win second in the individual pommel horse event. Having won the Nissen Emery Award for his college gymnastics trajectory, Nedorsocik made waves at the elite gymnastics level.
Recently, he returned to his alma mater to motivate the students with his gymnastics journey from college to the Olympics. In his Instagram story, he shared a group frame with the men's gymnastics team, followed by call-and-response chants for Penn State. The group picture also had a 'Donate Here' link for fans to help men's gymnastics bloom.
Stephen Nedoroscik was part of the SPA (Student Programming Association) Day at HUB-Robeson Center in Alumni Hall. Talking about balancing academics and gymnastics, he said:
"I wasn’t the best gymnast growing up, but I loved it. It was never easy being an engineer and a student-athlete." (PSU Collegian)
Nedoroscik then reflected on his Paris Olympic campaign, which helped the US men's team to its first podium in 16 years, and his stellar routine that drew more attention to the sport.
"Starting on pommel horse on day one is a dream...Everyone was falling in love with the men’s gymnastics team. It was a life-changing experience for me.”
Stephen Nedoroscik discussed wanting to see men's gymnastics grow
Stephen Nedoroscik competed in the 33rd season of Dancing With the Stars, incorporating gymnastic maneuvers into his dance routines and winning hearts. He even dedicated his performance to his sport on the Dedication Night.
In his recent speech at Penn State, he expressed his love for gymnastics and wished to see more people sign up for it, especially after the Olympic victory in Paris.
"For the last couple of decades here, we’ve seen a decline in the sport and that’s really scary for us, especially because we just made history at the Olympic Games. That’s our first bronze medal in 16 years." (via Centre Daily)
He added:
"One thing that I’d really love more than anything else to do on my platform is just see the sport grow. And one thing that I really do love about the sport is that when you buy in and you understand what’s going on, it is hard to not love it, especially with how great the community is and how great the guys are.”
Nedoroscik was the pommel horse champion at the 2021 World Championships in Kitakyushu. His resume also includes a team gold won at the 2023 Pan American Games.
