Stephen Nedoroscik's Dancing With the Stars partner, Rylee Arnold, appreciated him for his heartwarming gesture to keep his jive sleeve for his grandmother, a big DWTS fan. Nedoroscik shared that it was his grandmother's birthday last Wednesday.
The 25-year-old narrowly missed making the roster at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics but compensated for the setback in Paris this year. The 'Clark Kent' doppelganger (as deduced by fans), contributed pommel horse scores to the team event, propelling Team USA to the coveted bronze. He also bagged his maiden pommel horse bronze.
He continued his strong form at the DWTS, having partnered with the professional Rylee Arnold. The pair stunned the crowd on the opening night, performing a jive on Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now'. As their dancing video continued to make rounds on the internet, Arnold shared a heartwarming story of Nedoroscik asking the costume people to keep his shirt sleeve for gifting his grandmother.
In an Instagram post, Arnold said:
"Steve's original Jive shirt was a long sleeve, and we had to cut the sleeves because I wanted it to be a short sleeve. So Steve asked the costume people to let him keep what they cut off. For who?"
The pommel horse specialist adorably replied:
"For my grandma. She's a big fan of the show. It's kind of her dream."
Arnold laughed and teared up, finding Nedoroscik's gesture 'cute'.
Stephen Nedoroscik shared the post in his story with the caption:
"It was Grandma's birthday Wednesday!!"

The original video garnered the attention of several fans, some of who are also DWTS participants.
Ezra Sosa, partnered with Anna Delvey, wrote:
"STEVE IS TOO CUTE"
Some sent in comments like, 'He’s perfect', 'The way he said “for my grandma”', and 'he’s adorable!!!!', among others.
Stephen Nedoroscik performs the ear-pull tradition in honor of his late grandfather

The pommel horse specialist was named after his grandfather, Stephen John Nedoroscik, who passed away in 2023 at 94. The one thing he always used to do during his NCAA days was pull his ear whenever on TV and say, '‘Hey Dziadziu' (grandfather in Polish). After Dziadziu's passing, Nedoroscik kept the tradition alive and now uses it to greet everyone he loves.
“I’ve kept the tradition up and now it always means, ‘Hey,’ to everyone that I love. He’s a World War II vet and my idol. When I was at Penn State, that was the thing that I did whenever I was on TV to say, ‘Hey Dziadziu," he said. (via Today)
Nedoroscik won the pommel horse gold at the 2021 World Championships and bagged his first-ever elite national title at the US National Championships the same year.
