Stephen Nedoroscik's dance partner Rylee Arnold recently opened up about a minor blunder she made while preparing for a trip with her boyfriend Walker Lyons. The 19-year-old suffers from a serious health condition — Type 1 diabetes.
The gymnast met Arnold after he was offered a position at the Dancing With the Stars show following his remarkable performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He played a major role in helping his team win its first medal in 16 years as they won bronze in the team all-around event and he earned the highest score of 14.866 points. Along with this, he won a bronze medal in the pommel horse.
Following this, he was paired with Arnold, who has Type 1 diabetes and recently forgot to pack enough insulin for a trip with her boyfriend. She opened up about this on her Instagram story as she shared a picture with Lyons in which they can be seen posing in a pharmacy.
"Somehow I didn't pack enough insulin so had to stop by the pharmacy and get some more😂" Rylee Arnold wrote in the story.
Stephen Nedoroscik's dance partner opened once up about her health issue in an interview, where she revealed that she had to take care of her blood sugar level all the time.
When Stephen Nedoroscik's dance partner Rylee Arnold opened up about her health condition
Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold recently appeared on the 'Scrubbing In With Becca Tilley & Tanya Rad' podcast, where the latter spoke about her health condition. She opened up about how the disease had taken over her life and explained the importance of insulin. Arnold revealed that she takes a minimum of seven shots of insulin in a day.
"It takes over my life. Like it is something that is always on my mind. Basically, I have to be super aware of my blood sugar at all times. Any time I eat food that has carbs in it, I have to get myself a shot of insulin," Stephen Nedoroscik's dance partner said (20:02 onwards).
She added:
"Yes, any time I eat food. So, I have to like take seven minimum shots every single day. I have to always be aware because if my blood sugar level is too low, I could literally die, and so I have to be really aware that I keep my blood sugar stable because if my blood sugar is too high, I will feel super yucky, just like not good, and then later on in life, that can affect me really poorly if I let my blood sugar get high."
She continued:
"It is something that I really have to take responsibility for, and it is so important to, you know, take care of yourself with Type 1, because it's just hard, and you know it's hard with dancing too."
