American gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik recently showed off his new Rubik's cube record. This came just a few weeks after the conclusion of the Olympian's campaign on Dancing With the Stars.
The 26-year-old finished fourth at the event with his partner and dancing pro, Rylee Arnold. The two also scored a perfect score of 30 during their freestyle performance in the finals. Following this dancing experience, the Massachusetts native got back to one of his old hobbies, solving the Rubik's cube.
Nedoroscik took to his Instagram handle to share a screenshot of his new record on his stories. The timer showed a time of 8.387 seconds, which is just 5.257 seconds off the current Rubik's cube world record held by Max Park. As per reports, Nedoroscik's previous personal best was 8.664 seconds.
He captioned his post:
"This took over 10,000 solves and 1.5 years"
Stephen Nedoroscik was also spotted solving Rubik's cube during the 2024 Paris Olympics where he won two bronze medals. He had also claimed after the quadrennial event that this helped him stay focused and calm before his gymnastics performances.
Stephen Nedoroscik opens up about his eye condition that he had dealt since childhood
Stephen Nedoroscik recently opened up about the experiences he suffered as a kid due to his eye condition. The 26-year-old has been diagnosed with strabismus and coloboma which greatly hampers his vision.
In an interview with People, the American gymnast stated that in his younger days, it was difficult for him even to catch a football due to his lack of depth perception. He also mentioned that he didn't let his eye conditions hamper his career. He said:
"In the sunlight, trying to catch a football with no depth perception, you can imagine how difficult that would be. I never thought my eye conditions would stop me."
Further talking about the Clerk Kent memes that went viral on social media during the 2024 Paris Olympics, Nedoroscik added:
"It's just the coolest thing of all time. I just finished my team final and turned on my phone to hundreds of thousands of people talking about me and my eye condition."
During the interview, Nedoroscik also opened up about his time on Dancing With the Stars where he navigated several issues such as coordination with his partner, Rylee Arnold.
