Suni Lee shared a frame with US socialite Kim Kardashian and entrepreneur Jens Grede at the Skims' NYC flagship store opening. Lee has been on a fashion spree since her success at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Lee traveled to the Paris Olympics as part of the US women's gymnastics team. The reigning Tokyo Olympic champion in the all-around took the team gold but failed to defend her all-around title, trailing Simone Biles and Rebeca Andrade with bronze. She also finished third in the uneven bars.
Following her feat in the French capital, she unveiled her fashionable side in Tommy Hilfiger, Tory Burch, Off-White and Michael Kors fits at New York Fashion Week in September. She continued her momentum at Glamour's Women of the Year event, the CFDW Fashion Awards, and Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, among others.
On Saturday, the US socialite and businesswoman Kim Kardashian hosted the opening of her brainchild Skims' flagship store in New York. Among other celebrity attendees was US gymnast Suni Lee, who donned a black outfit and shared a frame with Kardashian and Skims' co-founder Jens Grede.
Kardashian is the fitting model and creative advisor and Grede joined her as the chief executive of the lingerie and loungewear brand, Skims.
Lee had another star-studded on October 8, when she was awestruck by pop icon Beyonce at the 2024 Glamour Women of the Year gala. When Glamour posted the video of Beyonce and Lee embracing, the Olympian ecstatically reacted, writing:
"u guyyssss i cannot breathe stop"
The Tokyo Olympic al-around champion was also in awe of K-pop icon Lalisa performing 'Moonlight' at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
"my queen," her Instagram story comment read.
Lee was part of the silver-winning team and won the uneven bars bronze at the Tokyo Olympics.
Suni Lee weighed in on her prospect of exploring the fashion side
Balancing a social media career with elite gymnastics, Suni Lee often features in campaigns of her partner brands. As a GK Elite gymnast, she also designed leotards for competing in gymnastic events. In an interview with Glamour on October 3, 2024, she expressed her wish to explore the world outside of gymnastics, especially fashion.
“It’s always just been gymnastics, gymnastics, gymnastics, whereas right now it’s like, Who is Suni outside gymnastics? She’s fun, she’s energetic, outgoing, very brave. But not a lot of people see that, and it’s something that I want to expand on more. I think fashion can be a really good way to express yourself," Lee said.
Lee faced a major kidney-related health setback at the beginning of 2023. As a result, she missed major competitions, including the World Championships.
