Fans recently expressed mixed reactions to Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone winning the World Athletics Track Athlete of the Year Award. While a few fans celebrated McLaughlin-Levrone's achievements, the other few argued that her limited appearances on the track do not justify the accolade.

The American sprinter secured two gold medals at the Paris Games. In the 400m hurdles, she broke her previous world record for the sixth time, clocking an impressive timing of 50.37 seconds. Further, she also contributed to the team's effort to earn the 4x400m relay title.

"Literally a no brainer.. what she has done in the track and field sport is legendary. Second place to her ain't even close..not even on the same planet," they wrote.
