Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone recently expressed her feelings by quoting a Bible verse. The 25-year-old is gearing up for Michael Johnson's Grand Slam Track's debut edition, set to run from April to September 2025.
McLaughlin-Levrone, the first track athlete to break four world records in 13 months, had a successful 2024 season. She kicked off the year with 200m and 400m wins before winning two gold medals in the 400m hurdles and 4x400m relay at the Paris Games. She also broke her world record mark by clocking a stellar time of 50.37s in the 400m hurdles event.
The four-time Olympic gold medalist has been enjoying her off-season since winning the invitational 200m and 400m at the Diamond League finals but will soon take the track for the Grand Slam Track League.
Recently, McLaughlin-Levrone took to her Instagram handle to express her feelings through a Bible verse while also posting a picture.
"Walk with grace, though the path is narrow even when peace seems far no matter the distance to go though the flesh is weak keep walking in His will not by your own strength walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you’ve been called even if you walk alone, you’re never truly alone fix your eyes ahead, where He is waiting though valleys will come and arrows will be drawn keep walking in faith Walk with grace."
McLaughlin-Levrone recently received the World Athletics Female Athlete of the Year honor for defending her titles at the 2024 Summer Olympics. During her off-season, she also worked on brand campaigns and made talk show appearances besides vacationing in Greece with her husband Andre Levrone, a former NFL player.
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone talked about going below 50s mark to break the 400m hurdles world record again
In 2024, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone first broke the 400m hurdles world record at the US Olympic trials before lowering the mark at the Olympics. After achieving the World Athletics' honor, she was asked whether sub-50s is a target. In response, the Olympian said she would want to make it happen naturally and keep working hard.
"That definitely is on my mind for sure. An athlete would naturally want to do that. Whether that happens or not is up to God. I’m just going to work for it, I can’t put a number on it. It may be me, or maybe an athlete in five or 10 years from now. So I’m just going to continue to try to be the best I can be and if it comes it comes, and if it doesn’t, it doesn’t." McLaughlin-Levrone was the youngest athlete to qualify for the Olympic team in 2016 since Denean Howard in 1980. She holds the 400m hurdles world U20 record of 53.60s and world under-18 best of 54.15s.
