Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone took part in a chopsticks challenge while revealing her most hated training regime. McLaughlin-Levrone came off her world record-breaking feat in the 400m hurdles at the 2024 Paris Games.
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, the first athlete to run sub-52s and sub-51s and set four world records in the 400m hurdles in 13 months, touched down in Paris for her second Olympic appearance. Clocking 50.37s in the 400m hurdles finals, she broke her world record for the sixth time.
Shortly after, the 25-year-old vacationed in Greece with her husband Andre Levrone before competing in the invitational 200m and 400m races at the Brussels Diamond League. She won both events in 22.40s and 49.11s, respectively.
The hurdler recently spoke to World Athletics and took part in the Chopsticks challenge, answering questions about track and field. Besides other questions, McLaughlin-Levrone was asked about the training activity she hated the most.
The 25-year-old unhesitantly replied:
"Long distance"
While the hurdler showed her prowess in picking spike pins from a bowl with chopsticks, she often garnered cheers and appreciation for her juggling skills. In an X post from October 2024, the four-time Olympic gold medalist was seen teaching juggling to her makeup artist amid the Grand Slam Track promo shoot.

McLaughlin-Levrone first broke the 400m hurdles world record at the 2021 US Olympic Trials, lowering it again at the finals in Tokyo. In the all-time list, she holds six out of ten fastest times in her forte event.
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone on running in the debut edition of the Grand Slam Track League
Ahead of her Paris Olympics stint, the 400m hurdler signed with Michael Johnson's brainchild, the Grand Slam Track league, which will kick off in March 2025.
In an interview at the Diamond League finals in 2024, she expressed excitement for the competition and how track and field would grow bbecause of it.
"I think it will be fun. Honestly, being able to do two events and kind of just challenge yourself also using some of those as training blocks, like, I think it’s just going to be really cool to see that dynamic and see the sport grow and popularity, and so I’m excited to be a part of that," McLaughlin-Levrone said.
The 25-year-old was bestowed with World Athletics' Women's Track Athlete of the Year award for her exploits in 2024.
