Mclaughlin-Levrone has already been a standout performer in the 400m Hurdles with numerous laurels in global tournaments such as the Diamond League and World Championships. However, her biggest success so far came in the Tokyo Olympics, during which, she clinched the gold medal with a then-world record time of 51.46 seconds.

She also clinched the US title last year after clocking an impressive time of 48.74 seconds. Moreover, the 24-year-old didn't participate in a single hurdles event in 2023.
But with the Olympics approaching Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has again gone back to the discipline that has given her so much success over the years- the hurdles. She has already competed at two 100m hurdles events in 2024.
The two-time Olympic gold medalist's coach, Bobby Kersee recently opened up about the 24-year-old's love for the 400m Hurdles event in an interview with Olympics.com.
"I think Sydney’s love is the 400m hurdles, and so that’s the number one event. My job is to make sure that she gets ready for the one that she wants to do the most," Kersee said.
