Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone sends Christmas wishes with a special verse

Olympic champion and world record holder Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone recently sent wishes for Christmas to her followers. The 25-year-old hurdler wished her followers with a special verse on Instagram.

McLaughlin-Levrone quoted a verse from the Bible, which she uploaded on her Instagram story. She wrote,

"But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.' Merry Christmas everyone!"

Mclaughlin-Levrone also credited her Christian faith for her victories on track, especially during the Paris Olympics. Her husband Andre Levrone, who once represented the Carolina Panthers at the NFL, before retiring from the sport to serve the cause of Christianity.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone broke the world record for the sixth time in women's 400m hurdles to win yet another Olympic gold medal in the event at the Paris Olympics. She also contributed to the gold medal performance of Team USA in the women's 4x400m relay event.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone recently expressed her thoughts about the current portrayal of track and field athletes. She called them out for peddling false stories that had no connection with the reality.

In an interview with the World Athletics, the American hurdler mentioned,

"I don’t think this will be a shock to the media but I think that for me would be the media and their opinions and stories of you they write. I know it’s their job to get an interesting story, but their story may not always reflect the truth."

The world record holder further added that for a young athlete who is yet to discover his / her personality, such news can be a bit overwhelming. She also spoke about sending a warning to the aspiring track and field athletes about the way the media portrays them.

For her brilliant performances on track in the athletic season of 2024, McLaughlin-Levrone was recently rewarded with the Female Track Athlete of the Year Award by the World Athletics. Previously, McLaughlin-Levrone was awarded with the award in 2022.

Apart from the above, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone also won the invitational events at the Brussels Diamond League Finals. She is now preparing for the upcoming season, especially the much-awaited Grand Slam Track League, conceptualized by former sprinting legend Michael Johnson.
