Kishane Thompson made her 2025 season debut in the 60m at the Central Hurdles, Relays & Field Meet in Jamaica. The Olympic silver medalist dominated the line-up to clock a personal best in the 60m with a performance of 6.48s.

Thompson emerged as one of the top contenders for the Olympic crown after clocking the fastest 100m race of the 2024 season. He went head-to-head against top athletes like Noah Lyles, Fred Kerley, and Oblique Seville among others. However, Noah Lyles overpowered him in the final moments of the 100m race, and the Jamaican had to settle for a silver. This was his last race of 2024.

After a couple of months of training, Kishane Thompson returned to the track to compete in the 60m event at the Central Hurdles, Relays & Field Meet, and took the track world by storm with his performance.

Fans took to X to express their thoughts on Thompson's season-opening performance.

Kishane Thompson had an incredible run in his debut Olympic games in the French capital. Along with winning the silver medal, the Jamaican athlete revealed how he gained a lot of experience while competing alongside some of the best athletes in the world.

Moreover, the quadrennial games taught him a lot about patience and perseverance while participating in major competitions.

"I gained a lot of experience running with all these great competitors. The first thing I've learned after going through something like this is I have to be more patient with myself. The second thing is I need to understand that the last part of the race is the most complicated, and the third is when it's such a close final, I have to big up myself even more," he said.

Thompson revealed that he will be taking into consideration all his learnings and incorporating them into his practice as he continues his pursuits to achieve greatness.
