Tara Davis-Woodhall has started her stint as an Assistant coach at the Kansas State University Track and Field team under director Travis Geopfert. The long jumper was offered the role following her maiden Olympic triumph at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Woodhall was announced as the assistant coach in September 2024 by Geopfert, who was newly hired as a K-State track and field coach back then.
Geopfert had earlier worked with Tara and her husband Hunter while serving as the Associate Head Coach for Track and Field at the University of Arkansas. His move to Kansas also motivated the couple to follow him, and Davis-Woodhall has now started her stint with the collegiate track and field team.
Trackwired shared the snaps of the Olympian's first day in K-State track and field practice alongside coach Geopfert on Instagram. The duo could be spotted having a fun conversation before one of the snaps showed her warming up through a short sprint.
Expressing her delight in reuniting with the coach Geopfert, Davis-Woodhall wrote in an Instagram story:
"The duo is back"
Hunter Woodhall was also spotted practicing with the team a couple of weeks ago when the couple announced they had started their preparations for the 2025 track and field season. The pair are close with the former decathlete turned coach and were instantly ready to relocate with him to Kansas State.
“When he told us he was coming to K-State, we were already packing our bags and looking for a place to live. He’s our person. Not only is he a really good coach, but he’s a really good human being," Tara Davis-Woodhall said during an interview with ksnt.com (via Yahoo Sports).
