The TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon has found success as one of the most popular running events in Canada, and it's back for another edition. The marathon is slated to take place on Sunday, October 20, with the 5k race scheduled for Saturday.
This event is a part of the Canada Running, the nation's premier running circuit that consists of seven races. The marathon is certified as a World Athletics Elite event, and boasts a coarse record of 2:05:00 and 2:22:17 in the men's and women's events.
The TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon allows participation for both elite athletes as well as everyday running enthusiasts. For elite runners, prizes extend upto the top eight finishers, with the winner receiving CAD 20,000, while second and third place finishers walk away with CAD 10,000 and 7,000 respectively.
