The United States won their first medal at the Paris Olympics in synchronized diving. The duo of Sarah Bacon and Kassidy Cook clinched the silver following their impressive total score of 314.64 points for their forward 2½ somersaults and first twist dive. This was Cook and Bacon's first Olympic medal and the first for the US in the event since 2012. The Chinese duo of Chang Yani and Chen Yiwen won the gold after scoring 337.68, while Great Britain won the bronze with their team of Scarlett Mew Jensen and Yasmin Harper scoring 302.28 in the finals.

Chloe Dygert secured a silver in the women's road cycling individual time trial event at the Paris Olympics after clocking a time of 41:10.70 at the Pont Alexandre III venue. Grace Brown of Australia was declared the Olympic champion in the event with a time of 39:38:24, while Anna Henderson of Great Britain took home the bronze after finishing in 41:09.83. Dygert suffered a crash during the race but made a heroic comeback to win her third Olympic medal.
