"Thanksgiving looks a little different this year" - Ilona Maher gives a sneak peek into her celebration after a tiring DWTS finale

Fresh off her stint on Dancing with the Stars, Ilona Maher shared glimpses of an easygoing Thanksgiving. She embraced a quieter celebration after the show's demanding finale.

This year, the 28-year-old clinched a bronze medal in the women's rugby sevens tournament at the Paris Olympics before joining Dancing with the Stars alongside partner Alan Bersten. The DWTS finalist recently concluded a demanding three-month schedule, which she wrapped up in November 2024.

Maher shared a glimpse of her laid-back Thanksgiving celebration on Instagram, spending the day with her sister. She captioned the post:

"We're so drained from the Finale and everything in between, so we kept it real chill this year."

She and her sister enjoyed prawn spaghetti and fruit juice:

Following the finale, Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, thanking fans for their support. The duo placed second, scoring a total of 114 points on the finale night.

Maher wrote in an Instagram post:

"Thank you for everything, guys. You voting are the reason we got to 2nd place. Of course, it's not first, but honestly, we won in many other ways. So lucky to have been partnered together and shared this amazing journey. We will remember this forever. Love Alan and Ilona."

Alan Bersten expressed his gratitude in the comments:

Maher and her partner performed a redemption Jive to "Shake A Tail Feather" by Ray Charles & The Blues Brothers, scoring 27 in the first round with three 9s from the judges. For their final performance, a freestyle to Chappell Roan's "Femininomenon" by District 78 ft. Mona Rue earned perfect 10s across the board.

Another Paris Olympics medalist, gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik, and his partner Rylee Arnold finished fourth.
