Suni Lee recently revealed that she would like fellow gymnast Jordan Chiles to be her seatmate on the flight to the 2024 Paris Olympics. Both athletes will be in action at the upcoming U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Team Trials scheduled between June 27 and 30 in Minneapolis.

Both Lee and Chiles will aim to deliver some brilliant routines at the Olympic Trials to secure spots in the USA’s five-member women’s gymnastics squad to be picked for the Games.

Team USA recently shared a video on their Instagram account where Lee discussed which teammate she would choose to sit next to on a flight to the Paris Olympics, stating:

"Jordan Chiles. Because that’s my girl. Like we’re like the duo. We just vibe and it’s a great time!"

Lee and Chiles are close friends. Following her comeback performance at the 2024 Core Hydration Classic, where she topped the field in the balance beam event with 14.600 points, the 21-year-old took to her Instagram to share pictures from the event, stating:

"The best feeling in the world."

Jordan Chiles commented under Suni Lee's post:

"So proud of you!!!"

Suni Lee expressed her desire to be a part of the USA's five-member squad for the 2024 Paris Olympics along with Jordan Chiles and Simone Biles in an interview with KPRC 2 Click2Houston earlier in May.

Lee also highlighted the importance of having good chemistry with teammates and said that she had a close bond with Jordan Chiles.

"I think it’s really important. I am really close with Jordan and she’s like one of my really good friends," Lee said (at 1:55).

The Tokyo Olympics all-around gold medalist also opened up on being inspired by Simone Biles, adding:

"Simone is somebody who continuously inspires me and I look up to her a lot just because she just continues to get better and better every single time that we see her. All the things that she went through is truly inspiring."

Lee continued:

"But it’s really important because once you get out there, you are a team and you are competing for Team USA."

The three gymnasts were also members of the USA’s silver-medal-winning team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Following Biles’ withdrawal from the women’s team event after the first rotation (due to ‘Twisties’), Lee, Chiles, and Grace McCallum played a crucial role in helping the USA in a second-place finish with 166.096 points.
