Noah Lyles' girlfriend, Junelle Bromfield, isn't a fan of his personality. The American sprinter is known for his big talk but his Jamaican girlfriend prefers his off-track personality more.
Lyles said that Bromfield doesn't look at his personality on the track, and it is the thing that makes him fall in love with her.
“Something that she says that truly makes me fall in love with her every time is, ‘I don't really look at his personality on the track.’ That's not the guy that she says she likes,” he told People.com
Lyles added that he's happy that Bromfield liked his off-track personality more because he wasn't going to remain a sprinter for his life.
“Every time she says that, I think I fall more in love with her because eventually I'm not going to be a track and field runner," Lyles said. "And if she got caught up in that personality, I think I would be a little sad because it is just for the track.
“That's the energy that I give there but that's not the energy that I give when I'm home, when we're on dates, when we’re inspiring others."
Lyles and Bromfield have been dating for several years now after the Olympic champion confessed his feelings in 2022. The two were friends in 2017, when the Jamaican runner slid into Lyles’ DMs.
The pair has publicly supported each other throughout the years, with the most recent incident being during the 2024 Paris Olympics. Fans criticized Bromfield after Lyles disclosed that she would keep him updated on the Jamaican sprinters' progress. Later, the Olympic winner publicly supported Broomfield, saying he was happy with how she handled the cyberbullying.
Noah Lyles supported Junelle Bromfield even before they were dating
After Noah Lyles showed public support for girlfriend Junelle Bromfield, the Jamaican runner recalled an incident from 2019 when the American had supported her after her brother had passed away.
"Thank you baby For always supporting long before we even started dating . I remember 2019 you had just became World Champion and my brother passed away around that time in the midst celebrating one of your biggest achievements.
"You tried so hard to make me feel better to help me see the positive in life and how god will always pull me out of a dark situation”, Bromfield commented.
She added:
"Christmas that year I didn’t receive any gifts . When you found out that you made it your duty to buy me whatever I wanted because you said Christmas is about giving and no friend of yours will go without a gift . That’s the type of person you are I love and appreciate you always.”
Both Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield competed at the recently concluded Paris Olympics 2024. While the Jamaican didn't win any medals, Lyles earned gold in the men's 100-meter dash.
