Fred Kerley lauded baseball as a sport, weeks after he concluded his 2024 season by competing at the Brussels Diamond League. He also wrapped up his Paris Olympics campaign weeks ago with one medal.
Kerley competed in the 100m and 400m relay events at the 2024 Summer Games. The 29-year-old bagged a bronze medal in the 100m dash by recording 9.81s and was trounced by Noah Lyles and Kishane Thompson, who secured first and second place, respectively. This campaign was then followed by the Lausanne Diamond League, where he competed in the 200m dash and claimed third place by recording a time of 19.86s.
Days after the bronze medal win in the 200m dash, Kerley competed in the last meet of the season, the Brussels Diamond League. Here, he ran in the 100m discipline, where he again claimed third position by posting 10.01s.
Weeks after concluding his 2024 track and field season, Fred Kerley was seen talking about baseball on his X account. He highlighted the change he felt while playing baseball and wrote:
"The cage been different love the energy⚾"
Not just this, the American sprinter also tried his hands at boxing after concluding his season.

Fred Kerley opened up about the significance of gold medals in his life and spoke about Usain Bolt being his inspiration in a recent interview with Olympics.com. The Texan shared how the Jamaican served as an inspiration for generations. The 29-year-old also shared his thoughts about winning more gold medals and wanting to cement his name in sports history. "He inspired a lot of generations. We try to duplicate or step foot where he stepped foot on. He is the golden standard for track and field. We all try to achieve all he achieved in his lifetime," said Fred Kerley.
He added:
"The more gold medals I get, the more I can put in the history book. Records come and go, but golds last forever. I want to be great and my name to last for generations and not just for right now. I want my name to last for generations to come."
Kerley was recently featured in the trailer of the Netflix docuseries Sprint 2, which is all about the off-track lives of the athletes. Here he was seen calling Noah Lyles 'arrogant and cocky.'
