Reigning 100m Olympic champion Noah Lyles has come under the radar of fans amid his ongoing social media feud with NFL wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

It all started with Hill claiming he could beat Lyles in a race during an interview with Kay Adams for her "Up & Adams show" while at his team's training camp. When questioned about Lyles, Tyreek took a dig at the former's COVID diagnosis at the Paris Olympics and claimed that he could beat him in a race.

"Noah Lyles can't say nothing after what just happened to him. You know what I'm saying? Then he want to come out and pretend like he's sick. I feel like that's like horseradish," he said (via Dov Kleiman's tweet)
"So, for him to do that and say that we're not world champions of like our sport, like come on, bro, just speak on what you know about, you know what I'm saying? And that's track. I would beat Noah Lyles. No, I wouldn't beat him by a lot, but I would beat Noah Lyles," he added.

A week after Tyreek's remarks, Lyles fired back at the NFL star by not recalling his name and calling him "The Cheetah Guy" instead. Lyles stated:

"Ummm, what's that guy, what's the cheetah guy from football? Well, I can't remember his name. Mark! What's the football player who thinks he's fast name? Tyreek Hill" (via Dov Kleiman's tweet).

Following the incident, fans also scrutinized the American sprinter for his remarks. A fan suggested Lyles should not to mess with the NFL players and wrote:

"The NBA stuff was funny but he gotta realize the NFL has criminals."

Another fan wrote:

"The Olympics over, he didn’t dominate s**t. He doesn’t deserve this much attention."
"Pretending you don’t know who someone is will always be lame," a fan commented.
"Most unlikable person ever," tweeted a fan.
"Tyreek Hill is an infinitely more impressive athlete than Noah Lyles," wrote another.
"Dude is so corny," another fan tweeted.

Noah Lyles has been a focal point of controversies throughout his sprinting career. His "world champions of what" remarks against the NBA not only garnered scrutiny from fans, but also prompted public responses from players like Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.

"I still don't agree with the comment. I feel like all the best talent in the world is in the NBA, and this is coming from an Olympic gold medalist [who believes] that being an NBA champion is probably harder to do," Booker stated (as quoted by Bleacher Report).

In addition, Lyles was also called out by his fellow track runner Quincy Hall after the former snubbed Hall from his dream 4x400m relay team. The Florida-based runner said that keeping Hall in the first leg would be "a waste of his talent." Following that, the current 400m Olympic champion, Hall hit back at Lyles in a tweet and wrote:

"@LylesNoah I don’t bother nobody but my blocks ready anytime you feel like you can beat me in the 400m, you were talking to much on my name on your little podcast @TrackWorldNews1. I don’t do the little slick comments and remarks, I line up."

However, neither of them was part of the American quartet that won the 4x400m relay title at the Paris Olympics.
