Lindsey Vonn recently celebrated her 40th birthday and penned a heartfelt note reflecting on her life journey. She expressed her thoughts about living in the present moment and enjoying life without worrying about what lies ahead.

Lindsey Vonn bid farewell to Alpine skiing in 2019 at the World Championships held in Sweden after an illustrious career spanning over 15 years. Throughout her career, Vonn faced several challenges that included major injuries, which had a profound impact on her performance; however, she managed to emerge stronger after every setback.

As she celebrated her 40th birthday, Vonn took to X to reflect on her life. The former Alpine skier expressed her desire to live her life to the fullest without any regrets.

"It’s my birthday!🎂🥳 I can’t even believe the journey I’ve been on to get me to where I am today… so I won’t waste time trying to imagine what lies ahead …. Because there is no gps for life and nothing is guaranteed but… what IS guaranteed is that I will always live my life to the max. I will never have regrets and I will always stay true to myself. So I might as well jump in and get to it!" she wrote.

After making her final appearance at the World Cup in 2019, Lindsey Vonn went on to explore multiple avenues, which included launching several businesses as well as investing in women's sports. Vonn made headlines earlier this year when she announced that she had become a part-owner of the Utah Royals, a franchise that returned to the NWSL after suspending its operations in 2021.

She spoke about her zeal for getting new opportunities in an interview with E! News and said:

"I'm just excited to conquer life I feel really lucky to be in a place where every day there's new opportunities. While I know that I'm never going to have the excitement or adrenaline of ski racing ever again, there are plenty of challenges that do get me excited."

Vonn, a pioneer for change in women's sports, continues to hit the gym regularly and also enjoys skiing on the slopes, as it helps free her mind. Speaking about exercising regularly, she said:

"For me, it's more like a meditation. It's the only place where I can really be present and not think about a million things that I have to do or what's going on. And I always found that was what skiing was for me. So now that I'm retired, I use the gym as that space. I definitely need it for my mental health and also just to physically get tired, because that obviously helps with my sleep a lot."

Lindsey Vonn went through a partial knee replacement surgery earlier this year and reports suggest that she was seen training on the Rettenbachferner glacier ahead of the commencement of the Alpine Skiing season.
