Trayvon Bromell pulled out of the U.S. Track and Field Olympic Team Trials due to an injury. The former World Champion has been struggling with injuries since 2023 and made his Olympic season debut at the East Coast Relays in the 100m.
Bromell stood third in his 2024 season debut where he competed against Tokyo Olympics 100m and 200m champions, Andre DeGrasse and Marcell Jacobs. He participated in the Meeting Citta Di Savona in Italy where he clocked 10.78s as he visibly struggled while completing the race.
His agent described the intricacies of the injury and revealed that the 2022 World Champion would be skipping the upcoming U.S. Track and Field Olympic Team Trials.
"Trayvon hurt his adductor in the race in Savona. He has been feeling it on and off since then. It has been bothering him in training this week so unfortunately he won't be ready for the Trials. We hope he will be back competing in a few weeks," read the statement from his agent.

Trayvon Bromell has struggled with major injuries during his career. He had surgeries on both his knees along with a forearm fracture which had a significant effect on his career. He opened up to NBC Sports on overcoming such adversities with a positive mindset.
"when the injuries came, it was something I really had never experienced before. When it came to the situation with the bone spurs, it felt like it came out of nowhere. This was something that was way out of my reach of knowledge. I didn’t know how to deal with it, so that’s why it was so hard for me to bounce back," he said.
