Simone Biles has claimed that while the general public considers gymnastics very easy, it is nothing like that. Clearing the misconceptions, the 11-time Olympic medalist stated that doing a back handspring on a beam doesn't make an elite gymnast, let alone an Olympic medalist.

Biles is regarded as the greatest gymnast of all time, having ruled the sport for the entirety of the last decade. While the 27-year-old is the most decorated gymnast in the history, it's the difficulty level of her skills that makes her stand even taller in the history of the greats.

One of Biles' most famous and hardest gymnastics skills is the Yurchenko Double Pike or 'Biles II on vault'. Assigned a difficulty value of 6.4, the highest in the sport, she is the only gymnast in history to land the skill in an open international competition. However, after winning a few medals with it, the 27-year-old decided to retire the skill because of its high risk.

After returning with three gold medals from the Paris Olympics, Simone Biles recently engaged in a questionnaire with US Weekly and was asked about what people get wrong about gymnastics.

She replied:

"One thing they get is wrong how easy the sport is. They do like a back handspring on a beam and they are like, we won the Olympics. No, it's not like that. You'd be in like level 6 if you tried that, not in elite gymnastics."

The 27-year-old added that people always pinned women gymnasts against each other, thinking there was some kind of rivalry between them.

"I als think they always pin women against each other and that is not case. Whenever we are on the floor, it's truly a sisterhood," she noted.

Simone Biles has been busy with the Gold Over America Tour following the end of the 2024 Paris Olympics, headlining the first show in Oceanside, California on September 16. During her rehearsals of the event, the 27-year-old was asked to reveal her nickname, and she did.

"Queen, S, and little kids call me 'Mone' because they usually can't pronounce my name,' she said.

Biles also added in the comment section that 'mo' was also one of her nicknames. She continues to headline the 30-stop Gold Over America Tour, which will conclude on November 3rd at Little Caesars Arena, Detroit.
