Jakob Ingebrigtsen called out arch-rival Josh Kerr after the Paris Olympics for being polite in person and 'trash talking' in interviews. The two athletes went head to head at the Paris Olympics and Josh Kerr emerged victorious in the contest between the two with the British athlete taking home the silver medal and Ingebrigsten finishing fourth after leading the pack for a major part of the race.
Ingebrigsten spoke about his rivalry with Josh Kerr in his documentary 'Ingebrigsten: Born to run' fueling the banter between the two athletes once again.
"What's funny is that he's (Josh Kerr) never said anything to me. So, if you smile and say hello politely and then you go to your friend's podcast and trash-talk that's really cowardly," he said.
"The problem with the rivalry is that it's not created by the media. It's only created by that moron because he began trash-talking me. But he's forgotten that he doesn't stand for anything he says. That says a lot about someone," he added.

Josh Kerr speaks on not being affected by Jakob Ingebrigtsen's comments
Josh Kerr and Jakob Ingebrigtsen have gone back and forth on the media multiple times. Before the Paris Olympics, Kerr spoke to Times UK and revealed how he won't let anyone belittle him by their comments and would be focussing on putting forward an incredible performance at the quadrennial games instead.
“I’m always going to speak my mind and I’m not going to let someone belittle my career with their comments. But I’m not going to combat that with my own comments. I’m going to combat that with results.
"It’s another reason why I wanted to run Prefontaine to show where I’m at and set my stall out for the season. It’s going to be a fantastic race, it’s going to be fast and I’m ready to battle it out for the win."
Furthermore, he shed light on his decision to run the Prefontaine Classic in a head-to-head race against arch-rival Jakob Ingebrigtsen at the famous Bowerman Mile.
