Simone Biles has gained recognition from Lebron James following her recent performance at the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics trials. Following the recognition, Simone Biles’ husband Jonathan Owens backed Lebron James to note that his wife has always been the greatest.
Biles was in a class of her own at the trials, winning the all-around and finishing second on the uneven bars. Biles continued her hot streak, finishing fourth on the balance beam and winning the on-floor exercise. She managed to emerge on the top with 117.225 points ahead of Suni Lee who finished second in 111.675.
Jordan Chiles was third with 111.425 points, as Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera finished fourth and fifth with 11.35 and 111.15 points respectively. The top five gymnasts will be flying America’s flag high at the Paris Olympic Games.
Following her stunning performance, James told ESPN that Biles has always been the best and her daughter even draws inspiration from her. He said (via AP):
"She’s the best. It’s that simple. She’s the best. She’s an inspiration to my daughter and to all…if you love greatness".
Meanwhile, Kevin Durant also commented on Biles’ prowess in the sport, lauding her for being a trailblazer and opening doors for many other gymnasts. He said (via AP):
"Simone is somebody who set the tone for what a champion, an Olympian, a winner in life should be."
Such inspirational words from the legendary basketballer are a morale booster to Biles as she chases history at the Olympic Games. Her husband, Owens, could not help but brag about the recognition Simone Biles gained. In a post on his Instagram stories, he said:
"They all know!!!!! Can’t wait to watch."
Jonathan Owens honours wife Simone Biles with tattoo ahead of Paris Olympic Games
Simone Biles was honored by her husband, Jonathan Owens with an “S” tattoo on his left ring finger ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Simone Biles, sharing her excitement with her fans, posted an image of Owen’s hand on her Instagram stories. She captioned it with two screaming face emojis, two red heart emojis, and two fingers crossed emojis.
The two lovebirds have publicly showcased their undying love for each other this Olympic season and as things look, they are not stopping at anything. The tattoo gesture is a morale booster for the four-time Olympic champion as she looks to impress for Team USA once again.
As she heads to the Olympic Games, Biles looks to be magnificent in her performance and cement her place in the world of gymnastics. This year’s Olympic Games will be her third after she debuted at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
In Rio, Biles was formidable, winning five medals, four gold, and a bronze medal. Going to the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, all the pressure was on her to deliver.
However, she was not in the form of her life, winning a silver medal and bronze medal, and will be keen on improving on that in Paris.
