Thomas was a key contributor to the USA's athletic team's success at the Paris Summer Games, winning 14 gold medals. The 27-year-old secured three gold medals in the 200m, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m relay events. She won the women's 200m title with a time of 21.83 seconds and was also part of the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay teams that won gold with times of 41.78 seconds and 3:15.27 seconds, respectively.

Notably, these were the first Olympic golds of her track and field career, having previously secured a silver and a bronze at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

Following her record-breaking achievements, Thomas appeared on the popular talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live, where she was interviewed by guest host RuPaul on Friday. During the conversation, her gold medals were displayed to the audience, and RuPaul asked the sprinter how she managed to get them through customs and out of Paris.

"So, these medals do not leave my side; these are my babies, so I don't put them in my suitcase that I check; I carry them on with me, and they are almost always stopped at the TSA [Transportation Security Administration] check. But it's almost kind of fun cuz it's a little moment where you get to flex a little bit," Thomas said in response.
