Simone Biles captivated the internet with her caption on an Instagram post after securing gold in the women’s team all-around gymnastics final at the Paris Olympics. Team USA comprised Biles, Jade Carey, Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, and Hezly Rivera.

Going up against eight other nations, Biles and the team put up a good fight to reclaim the gold medal they had won at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Team USA had claimed a silver medal in the team event at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

After winning the gold medal, Biles shared a photo of the team on her Instagram page. The caption, seemingly a direct response to another American gymnast, MyKayla Skinner, quickly ignited conversation among fans. Skinner had previously criticized the current Team USA's discipline in a since-deleted YouTube video.

"Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and depth isn’t what it used to be. The girls just don’t have the work ethic… to get to where you need to be in gymnastics you do have to be, I feel like, a little aggressive and a little intense," Skinner had said.

Simone Biles reacts to reclaiming Olympic gold medal in team event at Paris Olympics

After reclaiming their Olympic gold title in the women’s all-around team event, Biles said that experience played a huge role in their victory.

Speaking to Olympics.com, the five-time Olympic champion spoke fondly of her teammates, Suni Lee, Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, and Hezly Rivera. She emphasized how much she enjoyed their journey together in their quest for Olympic gold.

"Now that I’m much older and we have so much more experience, we’re out here really having fun and enjoying what we’re doing," Biles said.

"It just felt a little bit different. It was super exciting, we had fun, we enjoyed each other’s time out there, and we just did our gymnastics," she added.

The 27-year-old's focus now shifts to the individual events, where she will compete in the individual all-around, floor routine, balance beam, and vault. Biles will face tough opposition from the likes of Suni Lee, Zhou Yaqin, and Rebeca Andrade.
