Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone recalled her relationship with her husband, Andre Levrone, before getting married. The Olympic champion also became an author on January 30, after writing her memoir, 'Far Beyond Gold.'

McLaughlin-Levrone recently proved her billing at the Paris Olympics, where she won two gold medals. She won her first gold in the 400m hurdles, clocking an impressive world record of 50.37s, and defeated Anna Cockrell and Femke Bol, who claimed second and third place, respectively.

Following this, McLaughlin-Levrone won her second gold medal in the 4x400m relay race, where she and her team, which included Gabby Thomas, Alexis Holmes, and Shamier Little, recorded a time of 3:15.27. They bested the Netherlands and Great Britain, who secured second and third place, respectively.

The 25-year-old wrote in her memoir, 'Far Beyond Gold,' about multiple stories, including her relationship with her husband, Andre Levrone. She recalled an incident where she gushed over her relationship with Andre when she was dating and said that it was 'completely different.'

McLaughlin-Levrone emphasized the special gestures of her husband and also stated the fears that came in thinking that she might end up getting hurt again. She wrote:

"This relationship can't be real, I thought. It was completely different from any relationship I'd been in before. And it seemed too good to be true. The old fears returned. I was terrified of getting hurt again. The last breakup had nearly destroyed me. I'd never been so lonely when it fully and completely ended a year earlier. Now here I was almost twelve months later, risking it all again, this time with a guy who seemed amazing."

Talking more about her fears, McLaughlin-Levrone added:

"I opened up, committed to Andre, then I wasn't good enough for him? What if he broke up with me? Fear started running the show again, making me want to shut things down before they event started."

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone opened up about writing her book

In an interview with Olympics.com in February, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone opened up about writing her book, 'Far Beyond Gold.' She said that writing a book on her life was like an opportunity for her to share her story, and it would be a chance for her to journal her growth.

McLaughlin-Levrone also stated that she wanted to be very honest so that her readers could relate to her vulnerability.

“At first, I was a little unsure how much I could give in my 22 years of life at the time, but I just truly felt like it was an opportunity to just share my story of how I came to Christ and, you know, hopefully encourage someone through that journey," said McLaughlin-Levrone. "I'm sure when I look back in a few years, I'll be able to just see the growth,” said Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone.
“I wanted to intentionally be very honest, and I think that's what people relate to most, is the vulnerability and the authenticity."

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone is currently gearing up for the 2025 track season after having an incredible 2024.
