Allyson Felix shared a heartfelt message about the struggles she faced postpartum and opened up about her connection with track and field. The former athlete recently went on a vacation with her husband and took a break from her work.

Felix has had a remarkable career in track and field, having won 11 Olympic and 20 world championship medals. She retired from the sport in 2022 and became a businesswoman, starting her own shoe brand, Saysh. The American is now a mother of two children and welcomed her daughter, Camryn, who is now five years old, and gave birth to her son, Kenneth Maurice Ferguson III, this year in April 2024.

Allyson Felix recently penned a note on Instagram where she spoke about her difficulties postpartum and her love for an empty track. She shared a bunch of pictures and a video of herself running and warming up on the track. The post's caption read:

"This track still feels like home. There’s something I love about an empty lane—the quiet, the freedom, the chance to move just for the love of it. Postpartum, there have been times I’ve felt far from like myself. It’s been a practice in patience, in giving myself grace, in finding my way back to feeling strong—inside and out. I’ve also been intentional about holding gratitude for this body of mine—one that brought life into the world and continues to carry me forward."

She added:

"Whatever it is that makes you come alive, hold on to it. Let it evolve with you. There’s power in finding your joy, no matter what the chapter looks like.✨ 🙏🏾"

Allyson Felix opened up about transformation after becoming a mother

Allyson Felix became a mother for the first time in 2019 after she gave birth to her daughter Camryn, and now, after five years, she knows how to embrace motherhood. The former athlete recently appeared in an interview with Glamour, where she reflected on how motherhood changes a female and brings out a new version of them.

“Motherhood does change you. But it doesn’t end you,” she says. “You become a new version of yourself. And I think a lot of times we’re scared to lose ourselves. But the evolution of the self is very beautiful.”

Despite being away from the track for almost two years now, Allyson Felix played a major role during the Paris Olympics 2024, as she built a nursery in the Olympic village in Paris for athletes to spend time with their children.
