American athletes will compete at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials, pursuing their quest for the 2024 Games. The Trials will commence on June 21 and conclude on June 30 at the Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Several top athletes, including Olympians, world champions, and new promising athletes will show their prospects while vying for an Olympic spot. The trials will feature 44 events with two qualification standards for each event, including automatic and minimum qualification.

Noah Lyles, Sha'Carri Richardson, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Gabby Thomas, Christian Coleman, Fred Kerley, and Kenny Bednarek are a few athletes to look for at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials.


#1 Noah Lyles

Noah Lyles is all set to compete at the trials to secure the Olympic spot, pursuing a historic four gold medals record, in the events including the 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m relay events.

Lyles proved his prospects at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest by securing three gold medals in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay and became a member of the exclusive club, comprising Usain Bolt.


#2 Sha'Carri Richardson

Sha'Carri Richardson will compete in the 100m and 200m events at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials to achieve her debut Olympic quota after losing an opportunity to compete at the last Olympics. Richardson showed her proficiency at the 2023 World Championships, securing gold medals in the 100m and 4x100m relay and a bronze medal in the 200m.

She cemented her potential for the 100m at the 2024 Prefontaine Classic by securing the top place, clocking 10.83 seconds, defeating Julian Alfred and Dina Asher-Smith, who registered 10.93 and 10.98 seconds, respectively.


#3 Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone

After withdrawing from the 2023 World Championships due to a knee injury, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone returned to the track in the Olympic season at the Edwin Moses Legends Meet, displaying her prowess by topping the 400m hurdles lineup with a world lead of 52.07 seconds.

The American athlete holds the world record in the 400m hurdles, which she set at the 2022 WAC in Eugen, posting 50.68 seconds, and will be seen competing initially in the heats, on Friday, June 21, 2024.


#4 Tara Davis-Woodhall

Tara Davis-Woodhall has been cruising through victories in the Olympic season. She earned the gold medal at the 2024 World Indoor Athletics Championships after marking a jump of 7:07m.

She recorded her personal best jump of 7:17m at the NYC Grand Prix. Davis-Woodhall will be seen competing in the first round on Thursday, June 27, 2024, with the finals on Saturday, June 29, 2024.


#5 Gabby Thomas

Apart from competing in the 200m against Sha'Carri Richardson at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials, Gabby Thomas will also contend in the 400m to punch a ticket to Paris in quest of her first Olympic gold medal.
