The USA Track and Field Team for the 2024 Paris Olympics includes 120 athletes who will compete in single or multiple events. The squad age ranges from the youngest sprinter Quincy Wilson (16) to the oldest player Leonard Korir (37).

The American squad will include a few seasoned athletes competing in several events, including Korir (marathon), Marisa Howard (3000 Steeplechase), Emily Sisson (marathon), and Chari Hawkins (heptathlon). Let's take a look at these experienced players who will represent the USA in the track and field events in Paris.


#5 Emily Sisson will compete in the marathon at the Paris Olympics at the age of 32

Emily Sisson secured her spot in the 2024 Olympics USA Track and Field Team after finishing in second place in the marathon at the Trials with 2:22:42. She defeated Dakotah Lindwurm, who recorded 2:25.31, and was surpassed by Fiona O'Keeffe with 2:22:10.

She will compete in her second Olympics in Paris. At the Tokyo Games, Sisson had to settle for 10th place in the 10000m final after posting 31:09.58. Her personal best in the marathon was recorded in October 2022, when she posted 2:18:29.


#4 Katie Moon will vie to defend her Olympic title at the age of 33

Katie Moon will look to defend her title in the pole vault event at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She secured the berth after recording a mark of 4.73 at the 2024 US Olympic Trials, clinching her ticket with the USA Track and Field Team.

She clinched the gold medal in the pole vault event at the 2020 Games after posting a jump of 4.90m to defeat Anzhelika Sidorova and Holly Bradshaw, both of whom recorded 4.85m. The 33-year-old showed her prowess at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest by dominating the event with 4.90m.


#3 Chari Hawkins will compete at the Paris Olympics at 33

Chari Hawkins will compete in her debut Olympics at the 2024 Games in the French capital, representing the USA Track and Field Team in the heptathlon. She earned her spot after finishing second behind Anna Hall. While Hall scored 6614 points, Hawkins bagged 6456 points.

She left behind Taliyah Brooks, who earned 6408 points. Hawkins will compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics after falling short of qualifying for the 2021 Tokyo Games when she was placed in 6th position at the Trials.


#2 Joe Kovacs, 35, will be the second oldest in the USA Track and Field Team for the Paris Olympics

Joe Kovacs turned 35 on June 28 during the 2024 U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials and will be the second-oldest American track and field athlete competing at the Paris Olympics 2024. He made his Olympic debut at the 2016 Rio Olympics, winning the silver medal behind world record holder Ryan Crouser. Kovacs finished second again at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Ryan Crouser and Payton Otterdahl join the 35-year-old in the three-membered shot put team for the Paris Olympics. He finished 2nd behind the Olympic champion, Crouser, at the Olympic Trials but has shown good form this year and can challenge him for the gold in Paris.


#1 Leonard Korir will be the oldest athlete in the USA Track and Field Team for the Paris Olympics

Leonard Korir will compete as the oldest athlete from the USA Track and Field Team in Paris. The 37-year-old earned a spot to compete in the marathon after finishing behind Conner Mantz and Clayton Young at the Trials with a time of 2:09:57. He represented the American squad at the 2016 Rio Olympics, finishing in 14th place in the 10,000m after posting 27:35.650.
