It was an exciting day for the gymnastics fan at the Paris Olympics 2024 as Simone Biles and Co. stormed to the women's team finals gold medal. While some fans were mesmerized by Biles' brilliance, others were in awe of Brazilian gymnast Flavia Saraiva's determination.
The United States took a 1.5-point lead following the first rotation. By the end of the fourth and final rotation, Team USA emerged 5.802 points ahead of the second-placed Italy to secure the gold medal easily. Brazil finished third with a score of 164.497 to win their first Olympic bronze medal.
From Simone Biles' unreal routines to her reaction to watching Rebeca Andrade score better than her on uneven bars, several moments from the finals went viral over the Internet. At one point, Brazilian gymnast Flavia Saraiwa looked to be out of the competition after suffering a cut on top of her left eye during warmups. However, she stunned everyone, returning to help Brazil win the bronze with a bandaged eye.
Saraiwa went viral over the Internet for her determination to help the team in the finals with one of the fans calling the Brazilian move ‘hard as f**k’.
"brazilian gymnast flavia saraiva fell off the bar during warm ups, patched up her eye, and is now *hitting* her routines with this mug on. hard as fuck," the fan wrote.
Another fan compared the 24-year-old’s act to MMA fighter Taylor Sterling, who with a heavily damaged face had claimed she had enjoyed the fight.
Besides Saraiwa, Simone Biles continued to remain a fan favorite with several hilarious memes circulating of the gymnast over X. A fan posted:
